Nicosia Old General Hospital is a historic medical facility located in Nicosia, the capital city of Cyprus. It was the main hospital in the city until the opening of the Nicosia New General Hospital in 2006.

History[edit]

The Nicosia Old General Hospital was established in the early 20th century, during the British colonial rule in Cyprus. It served as the primary healthcare facility in Nicosia for several decades, providing a wide range of medical services to the city's population.

Facilities[edit]

The hospital was equipped with various departments, including surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and emergency medicine. It also had a pharmacy and a laboratory for medical tests.

Closure and Aftermath[edit]

The Nicosia Old General Hospital was closed in 2006 following the opening of the Nicosia New General Hospital. The old hospital building has since been repurposed for other uses. There have been proposals to convert it into a museum or a cultural center.
