Karol Meyer‏‎ (born 8th July 1968) is a Brazilian freediver, scuba diver, and underwater photographer. She is known for her numerous national and international records in freediving, and her contributions to the sport's development and promotion in Brazil and worldwide.

Early Life and Education[edit]

Karol Meyer was born in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil. She developed an interest in water sports and underwater activities at a young age. She pursued her education in Physical Education at the Federal University of Santa Catarina.

Career[edit]

Meyer began her career as a professional freediver in the late 1990s. She has set several national and international records in the sport, including the No-Limits Apnea world record in 2009. She is also a certified scuba diver and underwater photographer, with her work being featured in various publications and exhibitions.

In addition to her athletic achievements, Meyer has been instrumental in promoting freediving and underwater activities in Brazil. She has conducted numerous workshops and training sessions, and has been a strong advocate for the sport's recognition and development.

Achievements[edit]

Meyer's achievements in freediving include multiple national and international records. She is the first Brazilian woman to reach a depth of over 100 meters in No-Limits Apnea, a feat she accomplished in 2009. She also holds the South American record for Static Apnea, with a time of 6 minutes and 4 seconds.

Personal Life[edit]

Meyer is married and has two children. She continues to live in Florianópolis, where she also runs a diving school and promotes underwater sports and activities.
