Rochelle Lazarus is an influential figure in the world of advertising and marketing. She is best known for her tenure as the CEO and Chairman of Ogilvy & Mather, one of the largest and most prestigious advertising agencies in the world.
Early Life and Education[edit]
Rochelle Lazarus was born in New York City, United States. She attended Smith College, a private women's liberal arts college in Northampton, Massachusetts, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. She later received her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Columbia Business School in New York City.
Career[edit]
Lazarus began her career at Ogilvy & Mather in 1971. She held various positions within the company, including Senior Account Executive, Executive Creative Director, and President of Ogilvy & Mather Direct North America. In 1996, she was appointed CEO of the company, becoming the first woman to hold this position. In 1997, she also took on the role of Chairman.
Under Lazarus' leadership, Ogilvy & Mather expanded its global presence and diversified its services. She is credited with transforming the company into a modern, integrated marketing communications company.
Legacy[edit]
Lazarus is recognized for her contributions to the advertising industry. She has been inducted into the American Advertising Federation's Hall of Fame and has received numerous awards for her leadership and innovation.
