Rolo is a brand of chocolate confectionery currently manufactured by Nestlé. The product was originally developed in the United Kingdom by Mackintosh's, and first sold in 1937. It is well-known for its distinctive shape, a frustum of a cone, or in simpler terms, a truncated cone.

Rolo was first produced by Mackintosh's in the United Kingdom in 1937. The name Rolo is believed to have been derived from Rolled Gold. In 1969, the Rowntree Company acquired Mackintosh's and took over the production of Rolo. In 1988, Nestlé acquired Rowntree and has been the manufacturer of Rolo ever since.

Product Description[edit]

Rolo is a chocolate confectionery that consists of a truncated cone or frustum of a cone. Each piece of Rolo is made up of a soft, chewy caramel center encased in a shell of milk chocolate. The product is sold in a roll that typically contains ten to twelve pieces.

Variations[edit]

Over the years, various variations of Rolo have been introduced. These include Rolo Dark, which is made with dark chocolate, and Rolo Mini, which are smaller versions of the original Rolo. There is also Rolo Ice Cream, which incorporates Rolo into an ice cream dessert.

In Popular Culture[edit]

Rolo has been featured in various advertising campaigns over the years. One of the most famous is the Do you love anyone enough to give them your last Rolo? campaign, which was launched in the UK in the 1980s.
