History
Weleda was founded in 1921 as a pharmaceutical laboratory, with its own medicinal plant garden. It was founded by Rudolf Steiner, Ita Wegman and Oskar Schmiedel. Today, Weleda AG is a for-profit company with five cooperative societies of not-for-profit partner companies in Europe and North America.
