Ceuta is an autonomous city of Spain located on the north coast of Africa, shared with Morocco. Specifically, it is at the eastern end of the Strait of Gibraltar, on the Mediterranean, which separates it from the Spanish mainland. The area of Ceuta is approximately 18.5 square kilometers.
Etymology[edit]
The name "Ceuta" is derived from the Arabic word "Sebta", which means "seven". This is believed to be a reference to the seven hills on which the city was built.
