Tijuana Flats is a private American restaurant chain serving Tex-Mex cuisine. It was founded by Brian Wheeler in 1995 in Winter Park, Florida. The restaurant chain has expanded to over 135 locations throughout Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, and Indiana.

History

Brian Wheeler founded Tijuana Flats in 1995 after graduating from the University of Central Florida. He borrowed money from his family to open the first Tijuana Flats in Winter Park, Florida. The restaurant quickly gained popularity due to its fresh food and eclectic environment.

Menu

Tijuana Flats offers a variety of Tex-Mex dishes, including burritos, tacos, chimichangas, and quesadillas. They also offer a range of appetizers, salads, and desserts. The restaurant is known for its hot sauce bar, which features a range of sauces from mild to extremely hot.

Locations

Tijuana Flats has over 135 locations in the United States. The majority of these are in Florida, but the chain has also expanded into Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, and Indiana. Each location maintains the chain's signature eclectic decor and casual atmosphere.

Philanthropy

In 2007, Tijuana Flats established the Just in Queso Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides aid to individuals and communities in need. The foundation has raised over $3.5 million to date.
