Laax is a municipality in the Surselva region of the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. It is well known for its winter sports facilities, especially for snowboarding and skiing, and has gained international recognition for hosting various winter sports events. The village is situated on a plateau overlooking the Rhine gorge, offering spectacular views and a picturesque setting.

Geography[edit]

Laax is part of the Weisse Arena Gruppe, together with the neighboring villages of Flims and Falera, forming one of the largest linked skiing areas in Switzerland, known as the Flims Laax Falera ski resort.
