Journal of Applied Physiology is a monthly peer-reviewed medical journal that was established in 1948. It is published by the American Physiological Society and covers research on all aspects of physiology, especially those that deal with the physiological mechanisms of disease. The editor-in-chief is Sue Bodine (University of Iowa).
