Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) is a government agency in Norway responsible for maintaining and improving public health. It is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health and Care Services and is one of the largest public health institutes in Europe.

History

The Norwegian Institute of Public Health was established in 1948, following the merger of several older health institutions. Its primary goal is to promote good health and quality of life among the population of Norway.

Functions

The NIPH conducts research, provides advice to the government, and offers services in a variety of public health areas.
