Lorn and Islands Hospital is a district general hospital located in Oban, Scotland. It is managed by the NHS Highland.
History
The hospital was established in 1995, replacing the former Oban District General Hospital. It was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 1996.
Facilities
The hospital has a range of facilities including an Accident and Emergency department, Maternity ward, Radiology department, and Pathology laboratory. It also has a number of outpatient clinics and a Day surgery unit.
Services
Lorn and Islands Hospital provides a wide range of services including General surgery, Orthopedics, Obstetrics and gynaecology, Pediatrics, and Psychiatry. It also offers Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, and Speech and language therapy services.
Community
The hospital serves a wide community area including the towns of Oban, Lochgilphead, and Campbeltown, as well as the islands of Mull, Iona, Coll, Tiree, Colonsay, Islay, and Jura.
