FLAG (chemotherapy)
FLAG is a chemotherapy treatment protocol used primarily to treat acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). The acronym stands for the drugs that are used in the treatment: Fludarabine, Cytarabine (also known as Ara-C), and Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF).
Treatment Protocol
The FLAG chemotherapy regimen is typically administered in a hospital setting due to the intensity of the treatment and the need for close monitoring of the patient. The treatment protocol involves the administration of Fludarabine and Cytarabine, followed by G-CSF.
