American fly honeysuckle (lonicera canadensis) do not confuse with other honeysuckles from the family lonicera – non-native honeysuckles, such as the european fly honeysuckle and many others are very invasive and a threat to maine grows 2 to 5 feet high. A straggling shrub with handsome red berries. Sun to part-sun. Sandy, dry soil. Drought tolerant. Found in cool, rocky woods. Zone 3 native
