Rogers Clark Ballard Morton (September 19, 1914 – April 19, 1979) was an American politician who served as the United States Secretary of the Interior and United States Secretary of Commerce.
Early Life and Education
Rogers Morton was born in Louisville, Kentucky, to a prominent family. He attended Yale University, where he graduated with a degree in economics.
Political Career
Morton began his political career as a member of the Republican Party. He was elected to the United States House of Representatives from Maryland's 1st congressional district, serving from 1963 to 1971.
