Fibrous papule of the nose

Treatment

Since fibrous papules are benign and asymptomatic, treatment is usually not necessary unless for cosmetic reasons. Various treatment options include laser therapy, electrosurgery, and excision. However, there is a risk of scarring with these procedures. Patients seeking removal for cosmetic reasons should be counseled about the potential risks and benefits of treatment.

Prognosis

The prognosis for fibrous papule of the nose is excellent, as it is a benign lesion with no malignant potential. Once removed, the papule may recur, but this is uncommon.
