Waitrose & Partners is a chain of British supermarkets, which forms the food retail division of Britain's largest employee-owned retailer, the John Lewis Partnership. Its head office is located in Bracknell, Berkshire, England. Waitrose & Partners has 332 shops across the United Kingdom, including 65 "little Waitrose" convenience shops, and a 5.1% share of the market, making it the sixth-largest grocery retailer in the UK.
History[edit]
Waitrose & Partners was founded in 1904 by Wallace Waite, Arthur Rose and David Taylor. The company began as a small grocery store in Acton, London. In 1937, the company, now with 10 shops and 160 employees, was taken over by the John Lewis Partnership.
Products and Services[edit]
Waitrose & Partners offers a range of products including groceries, wine, and garden products. They also offer services such as home delivery, catering, and cooking classes. The company is known for its focus on quality food and ethical sourcing. They have a strong commitment to British farmers and suppliers, and all their fresh chicken, beef, and pork are sourced from British farms.
Waitrose & Partners in the Community[edit]
Waitrose & Partners is committed to supporting local communities and the environment. They have a scheme called the 'Community Matters' programme, where each branch donates £1,000 (£500 in convenience shops) between three local good causes each month.
