Wingstop Inc. is an American chain restaurant specializing in chicken wings and based in Dallas, Texas. Founded in 1994, the company operates and franchises more than 1,000 restaurants across the United States and in several other countries around the world.

History[edit]

Wingstop was founded in 1994 in Garland, Texas by Antonio Swad and Bernadette Fiaschetti, who had previously founded the Pizza Patrón chain. The first Wingstop location opened in 1994, and the company began franchising in 1997.

In 2003, Wingstop was acquired by Gemini Investors, which sold the chain to Roark Capital Group in 2010. Wingstop went public in 2015, listing on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol "WING".

Menu[edit]

Wingstop's menu features a variety of chicken wing flavors, including Original Hot, Cajun, Atomic, Mild, Teriyaki, Lemon Pepper, Hawaiian, Garlic Parmesan, Hickory Smoked BBQ, Louisiana Rub, and Mango Habanero. The chain also offers sides such as fries and veggie sticks, as well as dips and desserts.

Operations[edit]

As of 2020, Wingstop operates and franchises more than 1,000 locations in the United States and internationally, including in Mexico, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates. The company's restaurants are primarily located in urban and suburban areas and are designed with a nostalgic, aviation-themed atmosphere.

Recognition[edit]

Wingstop has received numerous awards and recognitions for its business model and food. In 2019, the company was ranked #10 on the "Top 100 Fast Casual Movers & Shakers" list by Fast Casual magazine. In 2020, Wingstop was named to the Fortune 1000 list of the largest United States corporations by revenue.
