Resy is an American technology company that provides a table reservation platform for restaurants. It was founded in 2014 by Ben Leventhal, co-founder of Eater.com, and Gary Vaynerchuk, a serial entrepreneur and author. The platform allows users to discover, book, and manage reservations in some of the world’s best restaurants.

History[edit]

Resy was launched in June 2014 in New York City. The company was initially designed as a platform for buying and selling restaurant reservations. However, it quickly evolved into a comprehensive restaurant reservation and waitlist system.

In 2017, Resy acquired ClubKviar, a private dining club and restaurant booking platform based in Spain, expanding its international presence. In 2019, Resy was acquired by American Express to enhance its premium dining experiences for card members.

Features[edit]

Resy offers a variety of features for both restaurants and diners. For restaurants, Resy provides a table management system, a ticketing system for special events, a waitlist system, and a CRM system. For diners, Resy offers a mobile app that allows users to discover new restaurants, make reservations, and manage their bookings.

Reception[edit]

Resy has been well received by both restaurants and diners. Restaurants appreciate the platform's ease of use and the control it gives them over their reservations. Diners enjoy the convenience of being able to discover and book tables at a wide range of restaurants.
