Comilla is a city in eastern Bangladesh, located along the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway. It is the administrative centre of the Comilla District, part of the Chittagong Division. The city is situated on the banks of the Gomti River.

Comilla has a rich historical and cultural background, dating back to the 7th century. The city was under the rule of the British Raj until the independence of Bangladesh in 1971. During the Bangladesh Liberation War, Comilla was one of the main centres of the war.
