Parapsychology

Parapsychology is a field of study that investigates paranormal and psychic phenomena. Researchers in the field are primarily interested in the study of telepathy, clairvoyance, psychokinesis, near-death experiences, reincarnation, and apparitions.

History

Parapsychology as a discipline began in the late 19th century with the foundation of the Society for Psychical Research in the United Kingdom, and the American Society for Psychical Research and the Parapsychological Association in the United States.
