TGI Fridays is an American restaurant chain that focuses on casual dining. The company is a unit of the Sentinel Capital Partners and TriArtisan Capital Partners, who purchased the company from Carlson Companies in May 2014.

The first TGI Fridays restaurant was opened in 1965 by Alan Stillman in New York. The original location was at the corner of First Avenue and 63rd Street, a location that quickly became a popular meeting place for young adults.
