Kent Hospital is a community teaching hospital located in Warwick, Rhode Island. It was founded in 1946 and opened in 1951 with 90 beds. Over the years, it has undergone several expansions to accommodate the growing community. In 1996, Kent Hospital became a founding member of Care New England, a health system that aims to improve the health and well-being of the communities it serves.

Today, Kent Hospital is the second-largest single site hospital in Rhode Island. It is situated just 11 miles south of Providence, RI. The hospital employs over 2,300 staff members, including a medical staff of 600 and a volunteer corp of 250. It has 359 beds and handles a significant number of surgical procedures, radiology procedures, and laboratory tests each year. The Emergency Services Department, one of the busiest in the state, sees approximately 75,000 visits annually.

Kent Hospital offers specialized services such as a multidisciplinary Wound Recovery Center and a cancer program accredited by the American College of Surgeons. The hospital also focuses on innovative approaches to nurse recruitment and retention, including a collaboration program with Salve Regina University.

As a teaching hospital, Kent Hospital is affiliated with several medical schools, including Alpert Medical School of Brown University and the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. It offers residency programs in emergency medicine, internal medicine, and family practice, as well as fellowships in gastroenterology and hyperbaric medicine.
