Nepidermin is a growth factor that is involved in the wound healing process. It is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family, which is a group of proteins that play a crucial role in cell division, cell growth, and the formation of blood vessels.

Function[edit]

Nepidermin, like other members of the FGF family, binds to receptor tyrosine kinases on the surface of cells. This binding triggers a cascade of signal transduction events within the cell, leading to changes in gene expression and cell behavior.
