Eosinophiluria is a medical condition characterized by the presence of eosinophils in the urine. It is often associated with interstitial nephritis, a type of kidney inflammation, and can be a sign of various other medical conditions.
Causes[edit]
Eosinophiluria can be caused by a variety of conditions, including:
- Drug-induced interstitial nephritis
- Acute interstitial nephritis
- Allergic reaction
- Parasitic infection
- Bladder cancer
Diagnosis[edit]
The diagnosis of eosinophiluria is typically made through a urine test. This test can identify the presence of eosinophils in the urine, which is a sign of inflammation in the kidneys.
Treatment[edit]
The treatment for eosinophiluria depends on the underlying cause. If the condition is caused by a drug reaction, the offending drug may need to be discontinued. If it is caused by an infection, antibiotics or antiparasitic medications may be prescribed. In cases where the cause is not clear, further testing may be needed to determine the best course of treatment.
