The University of Oulu (Finnish: Oulun yliopisto) is a public university located in Oulu, Finland. It was founded on 8 July 1958 and is one of the largest universities in Finland, with approximately 13,000 students and 2,900 staff members. The university is known for its research and education in the fields of information technology, biotechnology, northern and environmental issues, and cultural identity.
