Dimension Films is an American film production company and independent film distribution label owned by The Walt Disney Company. It was formerly used as a label within Miramax Films for films with a more genre-oriented focus, specifically horror and science fiction films. The company was founded by Bob Weinstein in 1992.

History[edit]

Dimension Films was created by Bob Weinstein in 1992 as a genre film label within Miramax Films, which was co-founded by Bob and his brother Harvey Weinstein. The label quickly became known for producing and distributing successful horror and science fiction films. In 2005, when the Weinstein brothers left Miramax to form The Weinstein Company, they took Dimension Films with them.
