Quality Meat Scotland[edit]
Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) is a public body that promotes and oversees the red meat industry in Scotland. It was established in 1990 and is funded by a levy on livestock producers and slaughterhouses. The organization's main functions are to promote Scottish red meat domestically and internationally, to provide assurance schemes for livestock producers, and to conduct research and development in the red meat sector.
History[edit]
Quality Meat Scotland was established in 1990 as a response to the need for a body to oversee and promote the red meat industry in Scotland. Since its inception, QMS has worked tirelessly to promote Scottish red meat and to ensure that it is produced to the highest standards of quality and welfare.
