Corner is a term used in various fields of study, including architecture, mathematics, and sports. In architecture, a corner refers to the point where two walls meet. In mathematics, it is the point where two lines intersect. In sports, it is a specific area of a playing field or court.

Architecture[edit]

In architecture, a corner is the point where two walls meet. This can be either an interior or exterior corner. Interior corners are typically formed by two walls meeting at a 90-degree angle, while exterior corners can be any angle. Corners are often reinforced with corner beads in drywall construction or with corner bricks in masonry construction.

Mathematics[edit]

In mathematics, a corner is the point where two lines or planes intersect. This can occur in two dimensions (a plane) or in three dimensions (space). In two dimensions, a corner is formed by two lines intersecting at a point. In three dimensions, a corner is formed by three planes intersecting at a point.

Sports[edit]

In sports, a corner refers to a specific area of a playing field or court. In soccer, for example, a corner kick is awarded when the ball goes out of bounds over the goal line, last touched by a defender, and a goal was not scored. The kick is taken from the corner of the field nearest to where the ball went out of bounds.
