United Nation of Islam (UNOI) is a group based in the United States that was founded by Royall Jenkins in the 1970s. The group has been described as part of the Black Nationalist movement and as a cult. It is not recognized by mainstream Muslims and its teachings are considered heretical by traditional Islamic scholars.

History[edit]

Royall Jenkins, who claims to have been taken aboard a UFO where he was taught the knowledge of all the sciences in the universe, founded the United Nation of Islam. He established the group in Kansas City, Kansas, where it has its headquarters. The group has been involved in various business ventures, including restaurants and bakeries, and has faced legal action related to labor practices.

Beliefs and practices[edit]

The United Nation of Islam teaches that Royall Jenkins is the "Supreme Being" and that he has revealed a new holy book, The Royall Crown. The group's teachings are a mix of Nation of Islam beliefs and Jenkins' own ideas. Members are required to work in UNOI businesses and live in UNOI housing. They are also required to follow a strict code of conduct, including dietary laws and dress codes.

Criticism and controversy[edit]

The United Nation of Islam has been criticized for its labor practices, with former members describing the group as a cult that exploits its members. The group has also been criticized by mainstream Muslims for its unorthodox beliefs and practices, which are considered heretical by traditional Islamic scholars.
