Dalian Medical University (DMU) is a prestigious medical school located in Dalian, Liaoning, China. It is one of the key universities in Liaoning Province and is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO).
History[edit]
Dalian Medical University was established in 1947, originally known as Guandong Medical College. In 1949, it joined with Dalian University and adopted the name Liaoning Medical College. In 1994, it gained its current name, Dalian Medical University.
Campus[edit]
The university has two main campuses: the old campus in the city center, and the new campus in Lushun South Road. The new campus, covering an area of 2.4 square kilometers, is the largest medical school campus in China.
Academics[edit]
DMU offers a wide range of programs for undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate students. It has 14 secondary schools, offering 4 doctoral degree programs, 4 first-level master's degree programs, 32 second-level master's degree programs, and 5 professional degree programs.
Research[edit]
DMU is known for its strong emphasis on research. It has established several research institutes, including the Institute of Cancer Stem Cell and the Institute of Glycobiology.

Notable Alumni[edit]
Many notable figures in the field of medicine have graduated from DMU, including Zhang Xiaoguang, a famous neurosurgeon in China.
