Acta Neurologica Scandinavica

Acta Neurologica Scandinavica is a peer-reviewed medical journal that focuses on the field of neurology. The journal was established in 1925 and is published by Wiley-Blackwell. It is the official journal of the Danish Neurological Society, Norwegian Neurological Society, and Swedish Neurological Society.

History

The journal was first published in 1925, making it one of the oldest neurology journals in existence. It was initially published in the Scandinavian languages, but switched to English in the 1960s to reach a wider audience.

Scope

The scope of Acta Neurologica Scandinavica includes clinical and experimental neurology, neurosurgery, neuropathology and neuroimaging. The journal publishes original articles, review articles, case reports and letters to the editor.

Acta Neurologica Scandinavica is abstracted and indexed in PubMed, MEDLINE, Scopus, and the Science Citation Index. According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2019 impact factor of 2.491.

Editorial board

The editorial board of Acta Neurologica Scandinavica consists of neurologists from the Scandinavian countries, as well as international members. The current editor-in-chief is Professor Per Soelberg Sørensen from the University of Copenhagen.
