Blue Bell is a census-designated place (CDP) in Whitpain Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located approximately 18 miles northwest of Philadelphia.

History[edit]

Blue Bell was originally known as Pigeontown, named after the large flocks of passenger pigeons that once gathered there. The community was renamed in 1840 after the Blue Bell Inn, a historic inn that is still in operation today.

Demographics[edit]

As of the 2020 census, the population of Blue Bell was 6,067. The area is known for its large executive-style homes, major business parks, and small community feel.

Blue Bell is home to several major businesses and corporations, including Unisys, a global information technology company. The area is also known for its country clubs and golf courses.
