New page

<br>Very Old Barton is a brand of bourbon whiskey produced in Bardstown, Kentucky by the Sazerac Company. The brand is named after the Barton 1792 Distillery where it is produced, which is one of the oldest distilleries in the United States.

History
The Barton 1792 Distillery was established in 1879 by Ben Mattingly and Tom Moore. The distillery was later purchased by Oscar Getz who renamed it after the Barton Creek that runs through the property. The Very Old Barton brand was introduced in the mid-20th century and has since become a staple in the bourbon industry.

Production
Very Old Barton is made using a traditional bourbon production process. The mash bill, or recipe, for Very Old Barton includes corn, rye, and malted barley. The bourbon is aged in new charred oak barrels for a minimum of four years, although some expressions of the brand are aged for up to six or eight years.

Tasting Notes
Very Old Barton is known for its rich, full-bodied flavor. The bourbon has notes of caramel, vanilla, and oak, with a smooth, warm finish. It is often enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or used as a base in classic cocktails like the Old Fashioned or Manhattan.

Awards and Recognition
Very Old Barton has received numerous awards and accolades for its quality and value. It has been recognized by spirits competitions such as the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and the Beverage Testing Institute.
