== Early Life ==
Nick Cannon was born on October 8, 1980, in [[San Diego, California]]. He was largely raised by his paternal grandfather. Cannon grew up in the [[Lincoln Park]]'s Bay Vista Housing Projects, which is a gang-ridden section of Southeast San Diego. He began performing at an early age, and by the time he was a teenager, he had already formed a rap group with his friends.
