== Mega Image ==

Mega Image is one of the largest supermarket chains in Romania, owned by the Belgian group Delhaize. The first store was opened in 1995 in Bucharest and since then, the network has expanded throughout the country. As of 2021, there are over 800 Mega Image stores in Romania.

== History ==

[[Mega Image]] was founded in 1995, with the opening of its first store in Bucharest. The company was initially a joint venture between the Greek company Alfa-Beta Vassilopoulos and the Belgian group [[Delhaize]]. In 1999, Delhaize became the sole owner of Mega Image.

== Expansion ==

In the early 2000s, Mega Image began to expand outside of Bucharest. The company opened its first stores in other major cities in Romania, such as Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara, and Iași. By 2010, Mega Image had over 100 stores across the country. The company continued to grow rapidly, reaching 200 stores in 2012, 500 stores in 2015, and 800 stores in 2021.
