In 1973, Dobkin entered politics and was elected as the first mayor of the newly incorporated city of Mississauga. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the development of the city&amp;#039;s infrastructure and public services. He served as mayor until 1976.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
After his political career, Dobkin returned to his medical practice. He has also been involved in various community and charitable organizations in Mississauga.&lt;br /&gt;
