== History ==
Liverpool F.C. was established following a dispute between the [[Everton F.C.|Everton]] committee and [[John Houlding]], the club president and owner of the [[Anfield]] stadium. As a result, Everton moved to [[Goodison Park]], and Houlding founded Liverpool F.C. to play at Anfield.

The club won its first [[Football League First Division|League Championship]] in the 1900-01 season and has since accumulated numerous domestic and international honors. Liverpool's most successful period came in the 1970s and 1980s under the management of [[Bill Shankly]], [[Bob Paisley]], [[Joe Fagan]], and [[Kenny Dalglish]].
