The sphenoid bone is situated in the middle of the skull towards the front, in front of the [[Temporal bone|temporal bones]] and [[Basilar part of occipital bone|basilar part of the occipital bone]]. The greater wing of the sphenoid bone extends laterally from the body of the sphenoid bone and ends in the Infratemporal Crest.<br />
