Estes Kefauver (July 26, 1903 – August 10, 1963) was an American [[politician]] and [[lawyer]] who served as a [[United States Senator]] from [[Tennessee]] from 1949 until his death in 1963. He was a member of the [[Democratic Party (United States)|Democratic Party]] and is best known for his work in antitrust and organized crime investigations.

==Early Life and Education==
Estes Kefauver was born in Madisonville, Tennessee, and attended the public schools of his hometown. He pursued higher education at the [[University of Tennessee]], where he received his undergraduate degree, and later at [[Yale Law School]], where he earned his law degree.

==Political Career==
Kefauver began his political career in the Tennessee House of Representatives, serving from 1939 to 1947.
