Northern Health

Northern Health is a health authority that operates in the northern part of British Columbia, Canada. It provides health care services to over 300,000 people over an area of 600,000 square kilometers. The authority is governed by a Board of Directors that is appointed by the Minister of Health.

History

Northern Health was established in 2001 as part of a province-wide restructuring of health authorities by the Government of British Columbia. The restructuring was intended to improve the coordination and delivery of health care services across the province.

Services

Northern Health provides a wide range of health care services, including hospital care, long-term care, mental health services, public health services, and home care. These services are delivered through a network of hospitals, health centres, clinics, and long-term care facilities.
