Zinc sulfate (pronounced as Zink Sul-fate) is an inorganic compound and dietary supplement. As a supplement it is used to treat zinc deficiency and to prevent the condition in those at high risk.

The term 'Zinc' is derived from the German word 'Zinke', meaning 'pointed; sharp'. 'Sulfate' is derived from the Latin word 'sulfur', meaning 'brimstone'.

Uses
