Watsons

Watsons (/ˈwɒtsənz/) is a leading health and beauty retail chain in Asia. It operates over 7,800 stores and 1,500 pharmacies in 13 Asian and European markets, including China (Mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau), Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Turkey and Ukraine.

Etymology

The name "Watsons" is derived from the founder, Dr. Thomas Watson. He opened the first Watsons store in Hong Kong in 1841, which was then a local dispensary. The store was later acquired by the A.S. Watson Group, a subsidiary of Hutchison Whampoa.
