Vocational Rehabilitation

Vocational Rehabilitation (vo·ca·tion·al re·ha·bil·i·ta·tion, pronounced: vo-kay-shuh-nl ree-huh-bil-i-tey-shuhn) is a process which enables persons with functional, psychological, developmental, cognitive, and emotional impairments or health conditions to overcome barriers to accessing, maintaining, or returning to employment or other useful occupation.

Etymology

The term "Vocational Rehabilitation" is derived from the Latin word vocatio meaning "a call, summons" and the Latin word rehabilitare meaning "to restore".
