Viviparity

Viviparity (pronounced vi-vi-par-i-ty) is a term used in biology to describe a mode of reproduction in which the embryo develops inside the body of the parent, as opposed to outside in an egg (oviparity). The term is derived from the Latin vivus meaning "alive" and parere meaning "to bring forth".
