SNRIs stop or delay the reabsorption of substances called serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain, leaving more of them available to the brain. Increasing levels of serotonin and norepinephrine can help regulate mood and relieve depression and chronic pain. SNRIs include drugs such as duloxetine and venlafaxine. Also called serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors
