Qiagen (/ˈkaɪədʒɛn/) is a Dutch multinational company that provides sample and assay technologies for molecular diagnostics, applied testing, academic and pharmaceutical research. Founded in 1984, the company is primarily known for its products for the isolation and purification of nucleic acids.

The name "Qiagen" is derived from the company's original focus on the development of innovative QIA-quality products for gen-etic and biological research.

Qiagen was founded in 1984 by a team of scientists at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, Germany. The company initially focused on developing innovative technologies for nucleic acid separation and purification.
