Predictive Medicine

Predictive Medicine (pronunciation: /prɪˈdɪktɪv ˈmɛdɪsɪn/) is a branch of medicine that involves predicting the probability of disease and instituting preventive measures in order to either prevent the disease altogether or significantly decrease its impact upon the patient.

Etymology

The term "Predictive Medicine" is derived from the English words "predictive", meaning foretelling, and "medicine", referring to the science or practice of the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
