Pizza Hut

Pizza Hut (/ˈpiːtsə hʌt/) is an American restaurant chain and international franchise founded in 1958 by Dan Carney and Frank Carney. The company is known for its Italian-American cuisine menu, including pizza and pasta, as well as side dishes and desserts.

Etymology

The name "Pizza Hut" was chosen for the simple reason that since the sign they had purchased only had room for nine characters. They wanted to use "Pizza" in the name, which left room for a three-letter word. The building looked like a hut, so they decided to use the word "Hut" in the name of their new business.

History

Pizza Hut has over 18,000 restaurants worldwide as of 2020, making it the world's largest pizza chain in terms of locations. It is a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, one of the world's largest restaurant companies.

Menu

Pizza Hut's menu offers a variety of pizzas, including the popular Pan Pizza, Stuffed Crust Pizza, and Thin 'N Crispy. Other menu items include pasta, salads, and sandwiches. Pizza Hut also offers a range of side dishes such as breadsticks, wings, and desserts.
