Personality (/ˌpɜːrsəˈnælɪti/) refers to the unique set of characteristics, traits, behaviors, and patterns that define an individual and differentiate them from others. These traits may include attitudes, habits, psychological traits, personal values, and emotional patterns.

Etymology

The term 'Personality' is derived from the Latin word 'persona', which means 'mask'. In the theatrical sense, actors used different 'personae' or masks to represent different characters or roles.
