Nplate - (pronounced) (DE-playt) medicine used to treat thrombocytopenia (low blood platelet counts) in adults and certain children with immune thrombocytopenic purpura that has not improved with other treatments. It is also being studied in the treatment of other diseases and cancers. Nplate binds to the thrombopoietin receptor, causing the bone marrow to make more platelets. It is a type of thrombopoietin receptor agonist. Also called AMG 531 and Romiplostim
